2 stars because the people were helpful. 1 star for Avis. We rented a car in Avoca Airport for 2 weeks. While we were diving the car we got pulled over for having bad plates. The officer asked for proof that it was a rental and when we opened the glove box...fraudulent credit cards feel in our laps. Many credit cards with different names same pictures. The Kingston police kept us there for hours to investigate this. And Avis couldn't explain why the plates were not registered to them but some man in Iowa. We may have to fly across the US for further credit card investigation. Really Avis. Don't you go through the vehicles when they come in??? And all they gave us was $100 off a huge bill. This was embarrassing, we missed the concert, and almost got arrested foe credit card fraud. Plus, we may have to go back to PA for questioning. I can't believe this. This made our entire trip and vacation a horrible embarrassing mess. All thanks to Avis! Close to 3 hours on the side of the road all because they don't register their vehicles correctly and we lost over 600 $ in concert tickets because we missed the concert. I hope to hear back from someone FROM Avis. Because when we call, we get the runaround and we are told that someone will get back to us. It's been 2 weeks and no word yet.

The front counter was efficient and friendly. The car was clean and in good shape. As for the access to the cars, it is just outside the airport and across the street. Overall a short walk and easy to get to. I have never seem to have a problem with renting vehicles from here.
Renting a car at AVP's AVIS has been a great experience: it was quick and pleasant. With my time of arrival, Crystal often was the person at the counter and she has been wonderful to work with. There were times when the flights were unexpectedly changed and she was able to provide the best service to deal with each situation.
